Beauty competitions aren't my thing, but scholarship pageants are. As a 22 year-old dental student, you might wonder why I would be involved with the Miss America Organization and how I juggle my ASDA commitments and studies. Nine times out of 10, I believe that living in the present and following passions is more valuable than sticking to a rigid schedule. I picked up this mentality from the Miss America Organization.

The Miss America Organization is set apart and cherished for its talent portion of the competition, which is not only fun and entertaining, but also carries the most weight in terms of contestant scoring (35%). If you are a friend or classmate of mine, even if you've known me since preschool with Mrs. B, you are probably guessing that I will sing for my talent.
